WELCOME

Styx river parrot rescue wants to welcome everyone to our new website. We are a full 501c3 tax exemption Non-profit Organization. We are opening a Parrot Rescue on Styx River in Alabama. We are providing a safe permanent happy home for any exotic and non indigenous birds that either their bird parents have either passed away or can no longer care for them. We are currently taking in birds and donations, but we are not yet open to the public. We are expecting to be completed with our first phase in the summer of 2025. There is a second phase to our mission we are looking into piloting a program to use birds as service animals for the treatment of PTSD in veterans, first responders, battered women amongst others suffering in silence. Styx River Parrot Rescue is a full 501c3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to providing a safe permanent home for parrots and other non indigenous birds. In many cases these birds outlive their human companions or they are no longer able to be cared for due to alot of different reasons. In some cases, they feel they have no choice but to release them into the wild. In which case they will not survive on their own.

We are currently developing a 3 acre property located on Styx River in beautiful Baldwin county Alabama. This property will include a Nature Trail with Enclosures for the Birds leading down to a River Walk and a Open Aviary. Once its complete, people are will be able to come walk the trail and enjoy the birds. While learning about them.

We are planning on having a full time vet tech on site along with onsite facilities and a on call veterinarian. This is to ensure the birds get all the the care they need. We are working closely with the USDA to insure full compliance. For those birds that can be adopted out, we have setup a strict set of guidelines to make sure that the bird is placed in the right forever home.

We are taking in birds at this time and have begun taking donations. All donations are tax deductible and receipts for tax purposes are available. We are raising money to cover construction costs and operational expenses.
